INTERSTAR MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS
LAUNCHES 25TH YEAR CELEBRATION WITH BUSINESS EXPANSION
|
FORT WORTH, Texas (December 19, 2001) InterStar Marketing & Public Relations, one of the largest public relations firms in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, is celebrating its 25th anniversary by establishing two new divisions as part of a strategic framework for future growth.
The company has a new international division, InterStar International, and new creative and graphic services arm, InterStar Creative Services. The company is opening an office in the New York City area to provide clients with expanded media relations and other consulting services. In addition, InterStar will launch a new Web site in early 2002.
Internationally, InterStar is forming business alliances in Mexico and Latin America. The company has a growing reputation in international marketing through its work with the U.S.-Argentina Chamber of Commerce, Sister Cities International and the North Texas Commission, as well as its history of trade and media relations on behalf of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Pier 1 Imports and the Cities of Denton and Fort Worth.
The agency is known for its expertise in serving aviation and transportation industry clients. In the wake of September 11, InterStar spent 10 days on site at DFW Airport helping coordinate its crisis response through news conferences, news alerts and updates, providing vital public information for airport passengers and visitors.
InterStar recently completed a major media relations program for the demolition of the DFW Airport Hyatt Hotel-West as part of the airport's $2.6 billion capital development program. The agency has served many other aviation industry clients including Worldwide Flight Services, Bell Helicopter Textron, Express One International and Alliance Airport.
InterStar's experience and expertise also includes work for the hospitality and tourism, financial services, food and beverage and retail business industries. The company's food industry work has helped position two major food manufacturers for growth - Mrs. Renfro's Foods, international manufacturer of salsas and other specialty food products, and The Morrison Milling Company, manufacturer of flour and cornmeal institutional and consumer products.
InterStar serves many public agencies and institutions, consulting on a range of issues and programs, from environmental topics to large-scale public service campaigns. In 2000, the agency completed an award-winning statewide public awareness campaign for the Texas Department on Aging and launched this year's successful advertising and public relations campaign for the North Texas Clean Air Coalition.
The company's New York-area office is headed by Kathy Korge Albergate, senior vice president of InterStar and a 12-year veteran of the agency. She leads the company's efforts to develop corporate and public-sector business, as well as to provide corporate design services to new clients in the Northeast U.S. region.
"Through the privilege of working with great clients like DFW Airport, Pier 1 Imports, Renfro's and Neuberger Berman in New York, we've been able to grow our business while also serving a great community," said Jane Schlansker, InterStar president. InterStar's newest client is Grand Prairie, Texas-based contract pharmaceutical manufacturer, PharmaFab, recently named to the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing private companies.
"We are proud to reach this 25-year milestone, and are excited to focus on expanding and building our services for the benefit of current and future clients," said Schlansker.
The company was founded in 1976 as Jane Schlansker & Co., with emphasis on award-winning commercial broadcast production services. In 1981, the company incorporated and in 1985 changed the name to PR/Texas to recognize increased demands for public relations, marketing and other public information consulting services. In September 2000, the company assumed the name InterStar to reflect its corporate growth and better enable the company to market its services internationally.
InterStar's corporate office is located in the downtown central business district of Fort Worth in a historic landmark building that was once a fraternal lodge, and later, an artists loft. Schlansker acquired the building for the firm in 1981 and carefully restored it to its current Texas Landmark status.
