Transportation Writers Tour, City of Fort Worth
InterStar created and coordinated a four-day series of tours and high-level briefings for top transportation writers from the U.S. and Mexico. The project, designed to focus attention on the area's vast aviation-transportation resources, featured CEO's of American Airlines, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, DFW Airport and Hillwood Development, as well as comprehensive tours of Lockheed, AA, Sabre, BNSF and others. The event generated international publicity for North Texas as a major intermodal transportation hub.

Lone Star Airlines
When regional carrier Lone Star Airlines expanded into Mexico, InterStar was selected to manage media efforts to introduce the airline's new international service to Chihuahua, Mexico. With the assistance of the airline, InterStar also helped plan and coordinate a major trade mission to Chihuahua, led by then Mayor, now U.S. Congresswoman, Kay Granger, to meet with state and local officials of this prominent commercial center of Mexico.

Airport Noise Studies (FAR Part 150)
InterStar was selected to plan and manage public involvement and information efforts during studies of three Fort Worth airports: Meacham, Alliance and Spinks. The agency's work included identifying stakeholders, writing and producing information materials, handling logistics for public meetings and media relations designed to keep residents and public officials informed.

Texas Department of Health, Safe Riders Division
The Texas Department of Health, Safe Riders Division selected InterStar to conduct three separate statewide public awareness campaigns on public safety issues, including correct use of child safety seats and seat belts. The agency's award-winning efforts made use of carefully planned market research, creative TV, radio and print materials and special events to educate and inform the public.

North Central Texas Council of Governments Airport System Study
In cooperation with this Council of Governments and the lead consulting firm of KPMG-Peat Marwick, InterStar planned and implemented a public information program for a 16-county Airport System Planning Study. Work included identifying target audiences, producing citizen information materials, handling logistics for public meetings, as well as advertising and media relations.

InterStar partnered with a Houston, Texas-based transportation consulting and project management firm, LKC Consulting Inc., to conduct a Transit Needs Assessment for this regional Council of Governments and the City of Arlington, Texas. The agency planned and coordinated public involvement and education efforts for this priority study.

North Texas Clean Air Coalition
InterStar's campaign to promote 2001 North Texas Clean Air efforts drew considerable public attention to this vital public issue and also received a first- place ADDY award for creative excellence. Using humor and clever graphics, the campaign show audiences how to reduce harmful vehicle emissions to improve air quality. In addition to coordinating creative campaign elements, InterStar handled media planning and buying, media relations, special events and news conference, and sponsorship solicitation.
